The government is urging more people to step forward and recycle the old mobile phones.
The British people are being urged to recycle their mobile phones apart from any other electronics that they may have. A new campaign has been launched by The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills which aims at getting maximum residents in the UK to recycle their old products, especially now when the holiday season is over. Millions of people in the UK receive tons of new electronics including gadgets such as cell phones during Christmas every year, while just about 30 per cent ever are processed for recycling. Unfortunately, many old products keep sitting around unused or improperly disposed causing a major threat to the environment. The large chunk of electronics and mobile phones which get passed down to younger people at home also does not account much in the whole lot of old devices out there.
Mark Prisk is a part of this new campaign. He believes that every now and then, people must be reminded to recycle their old cell phones and other products and avoid throwing them in landfills. Going green is beneficial in the short and long run. It helps in keeping the environment clean by keeping all old products away from landfills as that can be extremely dangerous to our planet. It also offers monetary benefits as the recycling programmes pay their consumers for turning in old electronics and cell phones.
You never realize how much difference our small steps can make to this world.
